Scrybe

Most music executives have never stood inside a vocal booth wondering if they are about to embarrass themselves.

Christian Phyfier decided he should.

The founder and CEO of Scrybe Streaming has spent years speaking with independent artists about the challenges they face. Low payouts. Constant self promotion. Creative burnout. The pressure of trying to build a career in an industry that often rewards algorithms more than people.

Recently, he realized there was one experience he could never fully understand from the outside.

What it actually feels like to be an artist.

Instead of relying on interviews or industry reports, Phyfier publicly announced that he would write and record his very first song while documenting every step of the process online. No ghostwriters. No music background. No shortcuts. Just the uncomfortable journey of becoming a complete beginner.

The series began with Episode One and has already continued into Episode Two, where viewers are watching the creative process unfold in real time.

Finding the right words.

Rewriting lyrics.

Questioning every decision.

Wondering if the final version will ever be good enough.

These are moments independent artists experience every day, yet they are rarely seen by the executives building the platforms those artists rely on.

“I do not think we truly understand an artist has to go through to make the product we are selling,” Phyfier said during the challenge.

The project is not about becoming a recording artist.

It is about building empathy.

Every recording session, every rewrite, and every moment of self doubt provides a firsthand look at the emotional side of creating music. It is a perspective that cannot be learned from charts, analytics, or spreadsheets.

That experience is already influencing the way Scrybe Version 3 is being developed.

Instead of asking how to generate more streams, the conversation increasingly becomes how to make life easier for the people creating the music.

It is a simple change in thinking, but one that could have a lasting impact.

According to industry estimates, more than 100,000 new songs are uploaded to streaming services every day. Most independent artists are expected to be the songwriter, performer, producer, marketer, graphic designer, social media manager, and business owner all at the same time.

Experiencing even a fraction of that responsibility has given Phyfier a renewed appreciation for the people Scrybe was created to serve.

That philosophy has become increasingly visible throughout the company’s countdown toward Version 3.

While much of the music industry continues to focus on streams, playlists, and algorithms, Scrybe continues to focus on something much simpler.

People.

Behind every stream is a person who chose to press play.

Behind every subscription is someone who decided an artist deserved their support.

Behind every song is a creator willing to be vulnerable enough to share their work with the world.

For Phyfier, writing his first song has reinforced the philosophy that is becoming the foundation of Scrybe.

“Artists do not need another CEO explaining music to them. They need someone willing to learn from them.”

Whether the finished song becomes a success is almost beside the point.

The real value is the perspective gained along the way.

As new episodes continue to be released, viewers are not simply watching a CEO attempt to write music.

They are watching someone experience the same uncertainty, excitement, frustration, and determination that millions of independent artists face every day.

If that experience helps create a better platform for artists, then this challenge may accomplish far more than producing a single song.

It may help reshape how technology companies think about the people who create the music the world enjoys.
