In a heartbreaking message shared on social media Saturday, television host Savannah Guthrie and her siblings issued an urgent public appeal to the person believed to be holding their mother, Nancy Guthrie.

Standing alongside her brother Camron and sister Annie, the Today anchor addressed the alleged captor directly. “We received your message and we understand,” she said. Fighting back emotion, she added, “We beg you to bring our mother back to us so we can be with her again. This is what matters most to our family, and we are willing to pay.”

Disappearance Raises Alarm

Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen Saturday evening in Tucson, Arizona. Concern grew after she failed to attend church the following morning. The last person known to have seen her was Annie’s husband, Tommaso Cioni, who had dropped her off at her residence the night before.

By Monday, authorities confirmed the situation had escalated. Investigators began treating Nancy’s home as a potential crime scene, stating there was reason to believe she may have been taken against her will.

Active Investigation Underway

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department emphasized that the case remains active and complex. Officials said multiple pieces of evidence are currently being reviewed and declined to release further details to protect the integrity of the investigation.

Authorities also noted that collecting surveillance footage from nearby homes and businesses is a standard part of their efforts.

As part of the inquiry, law enforcement removed a blue Subaru SUV believed to belong to Nancy from her garage. The vehicle was transported to an impound facility near the sheriff’s office. Investigators also collected a rooftop camera after a neighbor provided a tip. Reports additionally indicated that a floodlight near the back door of the home may have been taken down.

Savannah Guthrie makes an emotional appeal to a kidnapper, offering to pay a mother’s ransom and pleading, “We beg you.”

Ransom Demand Emerges

According to reports, a ransom message demanding millions of dollars in Bitcoin was sent earlier this week. FBI Phoenix Special Agent Heith Janke confirmed during a press briefing that the note required a financial transfer by a specified deadline.

Before that deadline passed, Savannah and her siblings had already spoken publicly, saying they needed confirmation that their mother was alive. “We want to hear from you, and we are ready to listen,” she said in an earlier video.

After the deadline expired without resolution, Camron released another emotional message, pleading for proof of life.

Family Holds Onto Hope

The Guthrie family continues to appeal directly to the suspected kidnapper while investigators work to piece together what happened. Their message remains simple and urgent: they are ready to cooperate and will do whatever it takes to bring their mother home safely.
